Another Day in Paradise...

I was recently reminded of the fun times we had in radio in Wichita.  I remember in my first year in Wichita, the KEYN management put together a costume/casino party on Halloween.  A bus came around and picked us up and delivered us to the party.  I was dressed like the Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz including a real metal barrel for the torso.

It wasn't long before I realized the folly of my costume selection.  It was very difficult to remove, especially after a few cocktails, and my arms needed to be about two feet longer to enable me to use the restroom.  Afterall, I am the Tin Man and I very possibly could rust.

The night jock, a bit of the typical Disc Jockey, went to the party as the boss, H. Roger.  H Roger in turn went to the party as the night jock.  There were people dressed as bricks and others dressed as brick layers.  There were candy bars, with and without nuts.  You can only guess at some of the other costumes.

That was one of the functions that helped to bring us together as a family of people about to have a great radio station.  Remind me to tell you about the company's first Christmas party with gift exchange.  Let me just end by saying thank you to the girl who helped me out with my zipper so the Tin Man didn't rust.  I'm still trying to remember who was responsible for the dead on aim.  Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....................

That is all....Peters out!!!
